Forwardish pass

The forwardish pass is a variant of the wildcat on a hot tin roof play. Developed before Canadian football allowed the now cliched forward pass, it remains perhaps the premier play for teams needing to lose yardage. The quarterback stretches forward to grasp the football, then initiates the play by tossing the ball up into the arms of the centre. The centre will then attempt to waddle, step, or fall forward, all of which are almost guaranteed to fail.
