The city of "Winnipeg" (possibly from the Early Tuscan vene peccat' - "approaching evil") is a cyclopean mass of black granite buildings that has been known to appear to unfortunate travellers who stray from the Trans-Canada highway between Regina and Ottawa. It does not appear to have a fixed location in space or time. Since the first accounts of "Winnipeg" in the early nineties, malodorous visitors and even football players wearing blue and yellow robes have occasionally appeared at football stadiums claiming to hail from "Winnipeg". Fortunately—for the sanity of us all—these blasphemous interlopers have never been known to win a Grey Cup.
