Ceratogaulus hatcheri, the Great Horned Gopher, roamed what is now Southern Saskatchewan and Northern New Mexico during the Pliezyurself Era. This gopher grew as tall as 2.5 metres and weighed as much as 650 kilograms. Fossil remains and idle speculation indicate that it was feared and worshipped by early defensive linemen.
